Our Story

Exchange Publishing, LLC. is an independently owned company which distributes 4 editions of the Exchange each week. We produce Eastern Washington's & North Idaho's largest classified publications, with editions covering Spokane, North Idaho, Wenatchee/Moses Lake and Lewiston/Clarkston Valley areas. We are also known for producing and publishing many local event programs, guides and catalogs.
The first issue of the Spokane area Exchange paper was published on August 19, 1978. Founded by two local veterans, Exchange Publishing, LLC. has served readers & advertisers continuously ever since.
Over the decades, the Spokane area has seen many shopper papers come and go. Names like Nickel Nik, Wheel Deals, Smart Shopper, and Auto Clipper were once familiar to local bargain hunters. While these publications eventually closed their doors, the Exchange has remained—adapting to changing times while staying true to our local roots and commitment to customer service.
When the pandemic disrupted the print industry and longtime shoppers like Giant Nickel and Thrifty Nickels ceased publication across the country, the Exchange saw an opportunity to serve more communities. We launched localized editions in Central Washington, the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley, North Idaho, and the Tri-Cities. Our success comes from being truly local—understanding that each community has different needs and deserves personalized service.
We believe in supporting other local publications rather than competing against them. The Exchange works closely with partners like The Inlander in Spokane and Nickel's Worth in North Idaho. Together, we strengthen the regional print media landscape and give advertisers more ways to reach their customers.
