On April 15, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council amended the 2025 Transportation Improvement Plan, approved a public safety sales tax ballot measure, awarded a grant application for the Sullivan & Trent Interchange, updated staffing and fees, and discussed short-term rental regulations.
On April 8, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council approved funding and easement changes for the Flora Cross Country Complex, received updates on the police precinct remodel, staffing and fee changes, and discussed group home regulations. Updates to the governance manual were also reviewed.
On March 26, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council updated its fire department agreement, authorized grant applications for transportation projects, amended its federal legislative agenda, and discussed short-term rentals and a potential public safety sales tax. An ordinance on signs was delayed for further review.
On March 18, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council held a public hearing on a proposed public safety sales tax and advanced related ordinances. They passed resolutions on sanctuary city status and homelessness, heard housing RFPs, and discussed transportation and bridge project funding.
On March 11, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council advanced ordinances on signage and energy code compliance, confirmed a TPA Commission reappointment, and approved an agreement with WSDOT. Updates were presented on short-term rentals, land capacity, police staffing, and homelessness grant proposals.
On March 4, 2025, Spokane Valley City Council held a budget workshop to begin planning for the 2026 budget. Staff highlighted rising costs, declining revenues, and potential new revenue sources. Council will continue discussions throughout the year with adoption scheduled for November.
